We partner with Edmentum, an online learning platform that lets students work through Florida-standards-aligned coursework at their own pace. You’re not sitting in a lecture waiting for everyone else to catch up — you move forward when you’re ready, with teachers available to support you every step of the way.

This approach builds more than academic skills. It builds the independent thinking and time-management habits that carry into college, job training, and life after graduation.

Falling behind on credits doesn’t have to mean starting over. Credit recovery at Central High gives students a structured, supported path to get back on track — without judgment.

Credit recovery is especially helpful if you:

• Are short on credits due to a failed course
• Missed requirements because of illness, work, or other life circumstances
• Need to make up a semester and keep moving toward graduation

Central High’s vocational courses are designed to prepare you for life after graduation — whether that’s a job, a career program, or further education.

Work Experience

Earn up to four elective credits through paid employment or volunteer work. One credit of Work Experience is required for graduation, making this both a practical and essential opportunity.

Workplace Essentials

A work-readiness course covering the skills employers actually look for. Available to complete remotely if needed.

Personal & Family Finance

Learn how money actually works — budgeting, saving, credit, investing, taxes, and financial planning. Skills you’ll use for the rest of your life.

Every student at Central High deserves the support they need to succeed. Our ESE program provides accommodations and individualized assistance for students with documented needs, including:

• Small-group and one-on-one instructional support
• Reading, math, and time-management skill development
• Full compliance with state ESE requirements and documentation
• A focus on building confidence, independence, and self-advocacy

All students at Central High are enrolled in Florida’s 18-credit accelerated diploma option by default. This is the standard path and the fastest route to graduation for most students.

Students who prefer a more comprehensive course of study may work toward a 24-credit diploma instead. Both options are reviewed with you at enrollment and orientation — we will help you choose the path that makes the most sense for your goals.

Central High School receives federal Title I funding, which supports academic programs and resources for students from low-income households. Title I information and required documents are available on our Title I page.
