At Palm Bay Preparatory Academy, high standards and quality instruction are the foundation of everything we do. Our teachers deliver rigorous, teacher-led instruction aligned to Florida B.E.S.T. Standards across all grade levels, with a clear focus on preparing every student for college, career, and life after graduation.
English Language Arts
Students in grades 6–12 develop strong reading, writing, grammar, and communication skills. Middle school students build foundational literacy; high school students engage with complex texts, argument-based writing, and college-level reading.
Curriculum: Savvas My Perspectives ELA, i-Ready, and Read 180.
Math
Middle school students are taught math concepts using Savvas Math curriculum with additional support through i-Ready and Math 180. Students’ math tracks are based on level of mastery allowing them opportunities to begin high school math classes while still in middle school.
Curriculum: Savvas Math. Students requiring additional math support use Math 180.
Science
Science instruction follows Florida’s Next Generation Sunshine State Standards. Students in middle school cover life, earth, and physical science; high school students progress through Integrated Science, Biology, Environmental Science, and Marine Biology.

Social Studies
The social studies sequence includes U.S. History and Career Planning, Civics (with required End of Course exam), World History, U.S. History (with required End of Course exam), American Government, and Economics. Florida civic literacy requirements are embedded throughout. Students learn to analyze primary sources, evaluate evidence, and develop well-reasoned positions.
Physical Education
All Middle School students are required to take a minimum of one semester of Physical Education. At the High School level, Physical Education is part of the required curriculum and counts toward Florida’s graduation requirements. High school students are required to successfully complete a semester of Physical Education and a semester of Personal Fitness.

Palm Bay Prep offers a variety of elective courses that allow students to explore their interests and build new skills. Current elective offerings include:

Graduation Requirements
Palm Bay Prep high school students earn a standard Florida diploma upon completing all state requirements. The standard graduation pathway requires a minimum of 24 credits. A 3-year ACCEL option (18 credits) is also available for students who declare intent by the end of 10th grade.
Students and families are encouraged to meet with the school counselor each year to track credit completion and plan for on-time graduation. Full graduation requirement details are available in the Registro section and the student handbook.

Palm Bay Prep recruits certified teachers who hold Florida state certification in their subject area and are committed to delivering a high-quality, college-preparatory education. Teachers complete ongoing professional development and are expected to build genuine relationships with their students.
