Palm Bay Preparatory Academy students are expected to wear the school uniform every day. A consistent dress code supports a focused academic environment and reflects the standards we hold for ourselves and each other. Questions about the dress code can be directed to the front office.
Tops
- Students must wear a Palm Bay T-shirt or polo shirt every day.
- Outerwear (sweaters, jackets, sweatshirts) must be solid white, solid gray, or solid black with no logos, graphics, or embellishments — or a school-purchased item with the Palm Bay logo.
- Hoodies are not permitted on campus.
Bottoms
- Pants, skirts, shorts, skorts, and capris are all acceptable.
- Approved colors: khaki, navy blue, black, or gray. Solid blue or black jeans are allowed — no rips or tears.
- All bottoms must extend to the knee and be worn at the natural waistline.
- In accordance with Florida State Law SB228, undergarments must not be visible.
- Leggings, sweat pants, athletics shorts, or joggers are not permitted.
Shoes
- Closed-toe shoes must be worn at all times.
- No slippers, slides, Crocs, or rubber shoes.
- No flip-flops, sandals, or backless shoes.
- Heels may not be higher than 1 inch.
Hair & Headwear
- Hair color must be natural. Fluorescent, pink, bright green, and similar unnatural colors are not permitted.
- Hats, bandanas, and gang-related headwear are not allowed.
- Hair barrettes and hair bands are permitted.
- If there is a question, please ask.
Accessories
- Piercings: modest earrings or studs in ears only.
- No colored ear gauges — clear gauges only.
- Facial piercings are not permitted, with the exception of small nose studs. No nose hoops or septum piercings.
- No wallet chains or heavy chains.
Backpacks
Middle and high school students must use a clear backpack on campus at all times.

Dress Code Violations
If a student arrives out of dress code, parents will be contacted to bring proper attire.
- 1st violation: Parent notified; parent brings proper school attire.
- 2nd violation: Parent notified; parent brings proper attire. Student documentation placed on file.
- 3rd violation: Parent notified; parent brings proper attire. Discipline referral issued (loss of privilege, morning detention, or similar consequence).
