Who We Are
Central High School is an alternative diploma program for students ages 16 to 21 in Panama City, Florida. We are part of Palm Bay Education Group, Inc., a Title I public charter school network. There is no cost to attend.
We exist for students who need a different path to their diploma. Maybe the traditional school setting wasn’t the right fit. Maybe life got in the way. Maybe you just need a school that meets you where you are. That’s what Central High is here for.

Our School
Central High School is located at 1250 West 17th Street in Panama City, Florida. We are one of three schools operated by Palm Bay Education Group, Inc., alongside Palm Bay Preparatory Academy (grades 6–12) and Palm Bay Elementary School (K–5). All three schools are governed by one shared school board.
We serve students ages 16 to 21. There is no entrance test and no application fee. If you are a Florida resident in that age range and you want your diploma, we want to help you get it.
Central High is fully accredited by COGNIA and has held a Commendable rating from the Florida Department of Education since the 2018–19 school year — one of only 20 schools in Florida to achieve this distinction.
Leadership
Jeremy Knapp serves as Principal of Central High School. He leads the school with a commitment to giving every student a meaningful, respected path to graduation.
Deseree Barnes serves as Dean of Students at Central High School. She works directly with students and families to make sure everyone has what they need to move forward.
